Acceptable Use Policy

You must not create short links that point, directly or through chains of redirects, to:

• Malware, spyware, ransomware, or any software designed to harm devices or steal data.
• Phishing pages or any content that imitates another organisation to collect credentials or payment details.
• Scams and fraud, including fake giveaways, investment fraud, and deceptive commerce.
• Child sexual abuse material, which is reported to the relevant authorities without exception.
• Content that is illegal in the United Kingdom, including terrorist content and the sale of illegal goods.
• Content that infringes copyright or trademarks on a commercial scale.

• Deceptive masking: using a short link to hide a destination in a way intended to mislead the person clicking.
• Spam: creating links in bulk for unsolicited email, comment spam, or messaging abuse.
• Harassment: links used as part of targeted abuse, doxxing, or intimidation of individuals.
• Impersonation: aliases crafted to pass the link off as another person, brand, or official body.
• Circumvention: recreating links or aliases that we have already disabled for a violation.
• Technical abuse: probing, overloading, scraping at disruptive volume, or attempting to bypass rate limits and security controls.

The policy applies to the final destination a visitor actually reaches, not just the first hop. Routing a prohibited destination through another shortener or an intermediate page is still a violation.

We review reported links and also scan for known-bad destinations. Depending on severity we may:

• Disable the short link so it shows a warning page instead of redirecting.
• Reclaim the alias.
• Block the destination domain from being shortened again.
• Suspend the associated account once accounts exist.
• Report the matter to law enforcement where the law requires or justifies it.

If your link was disabled and you believe that was a mistake, email hello@urlhawk.im with the short link and an explanation. A human reviews every appeal, and links disabled in error are restored.

If you find a urlhawk link pointing somewhere harmful, email hello@urlhawk.im with the short link and a brief description of the problem. Reports are reviewed promptly and you do not need an account to report.

We may update this policy as new kinds of abuse appear. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
